Overall Description
A
very hardy, fast growing upright juniper with a very pyramidal,
columnar growth habit. Withstands drought & windy conditions better
than most upright junipers. Good choice for privacy borders, wind
screens, as well as accent & group plantings. Retains excellent
color through the winter. Prefers slightly
acidic, well drained soil. Full sun to part shade.

Sun Exposure: Full sun to partial shade. Growth rate will be slightly slower in shadier spots.
Soil Preference: Average to slightly acidic & sandy - well drained.
Foliage Color & Texture: Bluish
green foliage is extremely dense in full sun spots, a little less dense in partial shade locations. Texture is needle like, and very prickly to the touch.
Flower, Cone, Or Berry Facts: None to mention.
Diseases / Insects: Rather trouble free juniper - however Phomopsis & Kabatina blights have been observed on specimens that have been kept in very wet conditions, or in soil with inadequate drainage.
Fertilization / Feeding: Either
water soluble ( Miracle Gro, or equivalent ), or granular ( Holly Tone
is excellent ). Other granular types with 6-12-12, or 10-10-10 ratio is
acceptable. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall -
avoid feeding during hot summer months, and directly after
transplanting.
