Overall Description:
Nice variety of Abelia with copper colored new growth that eventually matures to yellow to yellow/green. Best color is displayed when planted in a nice, sunny spot and kept well- watered. Nice white, funnel-shaped flowers bloom from mid May till frost in fall / winter. Foliage remains evergreen in southern locations - remains until early winter in colder climates. prefers somewhat moist soil, but needs to drain sufficiently. A really good choice for a mid-sized flowering shrub - very all-purpose & easy to care for.

Soil Preference: Average to moist & fertile - well drained. Mulching recommended
Foliage Color & Texture: Very glossy leaves are increasingly yellow in color as sun exposure is increased. New growth is especially colorful - a golden yellow color with a touch of bronze at times. Older foliage tends to mature to a yellowish green color.
Flower / Cone / Berry Facts: Has very, very fragrant long trumpet shaped flowers which occur in mid spring, and then really bloom very heavily again in late summer or early fall. Flowers are bright, pure white in color and are about 1" long in length.
Diseases / Insects: No serious threats or problems have been reported. Aphids can sometimes affect new, tender growth shoots.
Fertilization / Feeding : Application of general all purpose plant food / fertilizer can be beneficial in early spring, and again in mid July.
