Chamaecyparis ( False Cypress ) is available in an almost endless variety of sizes, textures, colors, and shapes. There are many Chamaecyparis cultivars that do quite well in semi shaded locations, and even a few that seem to prefer shadier spots - while others thrive in full sun. They make excellent accent plantings, and the larger cultivars also make very attractive specimen plantings as well. Most Chamaecyparis are very easy to keep & grow - and with little or no maintenance with regards to trimming, pruning, or shaping. Lemon Twist Chamaecyparis is a slightly dwarf form of obtusa has nice dark green threadlike foliage with bright golden yellow ends which often develop club shaped "cockscombs" at the very tip of each threadlike strand. Develops a very curious, mounding, almost weeping growth habit as the plant reaches maturity.





Semi-dwarf, slower growing form of Hinoki Cypress with flat, fern-like yellow foliage. Needs sun for best color. Makes a great accent or container garden specimen. Very hard to find Chamaecyparis variety.

VERY ATTRACTIVE PLANT - NOT VERY COMMONLY SEEN

Mikko Chamaecyparis has light textured, feathery foliage that is light bluish-green and tipped in bright white. Has almost a "frosted" appearance at times. Great choice for a variety of uses! We only grow a small number of this variety each year - so unfortunately availability can be a little sparse at different times of the year. So we strongly suggest ordering them whenever we have them available if this is a plant you are interested in.
