Compact Bronze Hinoki Cypress
This is another dwarf version of a Hinoki Cypress that has a somewhat mounded, spreading growth habit. Actually grows wider than it does tall. Foliage is a very good green color, and new growth during warmer months is a very light, almost yellow / green. In extreme cold, foliage will take on a coppery bronze appearance. Branches & stems are a beautiful orangish bronze color, which gives an excellent color contrast against the green, flattened sprays of foliage. Has slow to moderate growth, and requires absolutely no pruning or trimming. Likes full sun, but will accept partial shade as well. Enjoys rich, moist, fertile soil that drains well - and does it's best when mulched regularly in spring & fall. Works well as a nice green foreground plant in front of larger plantings, and equally as attractive as an accent planting.
