Pinus Mugo pumilio 'Abruzzi-Maiella'
Also
known as Swiss Mountain Pine, or Dwarf Mugo Pine. This is a dwarf,
low-growing, spreading pine. Nice dark green, stiff needles that are 2-3
inches long. Very tolerant - can handle poor, rocky, dry, windy
conditions. Widely used in foundation plantings, and is an excellent
choice for bonsai projects and Japanese gardens.
Our
Abruzzi-Maiella strain of Dwarf Mugo Pine is grown from seed that is
collected from the Abruzzi-Maiella mountain range in central Italy. They
are a very select strain of Mugo, and the seed strain comes from an
area that is known worldwide to be a great source for low growing, dwarf
forms. Extremely hardy, with a superb growth habit that requires no
maintenance at all.
