PLANT DESCRIPTIONS & FACTS
Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Crippsii' Golden Form
Broadly pyramidal growth that is somewhat open in habit. Has a rich, golden yellow color which gradually changes to green toward the interior of the plant. Much more pronounced, vibrant yellow color than the standard Crippsii. Must receive plenty of sun to display this brilliant golden yellow color - otherwise plant will be more of a very light lime green color, which is still quite attractive. Best used as a large specimen tree to draw interest to a particular area of a landscape. Develops nice reddish brown bark which peels in thin long strips when mature. Prefers moist, well drained soil in a sunny, somewhat sheltered location. Excellent tree for landscape use.
