Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Gold King'
Gold King Chamaecyparis is a very graceful, delicate looking cultivar with a graceful semi pyramidal to globular shape. Foliage is flattened with a somewhat "fern type" look to it. Foliage color has a light green base color, with a very attractive creamy golden yellow overtone - the more sun this plant receives, the more pronounced this creamy yellow color is displayed. Our experience with this cultivar has shown it to be tolerable to full sun locations, but seems to really thrive in areas with partial sun, or filtered sunlight. Makes a beautiful accent plant, or a nice selection for a medium sized planting around larger specimens. A very hard to find cultivar - we have only a small number of these available each year. Definitely a must for the gardener who enjoys having something beautiful, and out of the ordinary.
