Juniperus conferta 'All Gold' - Golden Pacific Juniper

Overall Description

The Golden Pacific Juniper is a new juniper introduction, and looks almost exactly like the ever popular Blue Pacific Juniper..........with the exception of the foliage color, of course. It is a new spin on an old favorite - a yellow / golden colored version of the Shore Juniper, or Blue Pacific Juniper as it is most commonly called. Golden Pacific Juniper has the same, low growing, trailing growth characteristics as the Blue Pacific, but this new variety displays a good amount of nice bright golden yellow foliage. Color is especially nice on new growth.

Color is best when planted in locations with excellent sun exposure - the better the sun, the better the golden yellow color will be. This juniper variety is well suited for use as a groundcover, and works well in mass plantings to cover any area with good sun exposure.......small, or large. Branches are fairly soft, pliable, and flexible......making Golden Pacific Juniper an excellent choice for use along retaining walls, or anywhere it can be allowed to cascade down over the edges.

--Fertilization / Feeding :
For maximum health & hardiness, we highly recommend a good grade granular ( preferably organic ) fertilizer / plant food for use with all of our plant species. We personally use, and recommend the Espoma line of organic plant foods, as they are super effective yet gentle enough to use on even the most delicate of evergreen species where fertilizer burn would normally be a major concern. However, a water soluble type plant food (Miracle Gro, or equivalent ) are also acceptable options. Other granular fertilizers with a 6 - 12 - 12, or 10 - 10 - 10 ratio can also be used - but we suggest using them at 1/2 - 3/4 strength to avoid any chemical burn issues to the root system of the plants. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting. The Espoma Organic Plant Foods may be used at anytime.
