PLANT DESCRIPTIONS & FACTS
Ophiopogon japonicus 'Mondo' aka "Monkey Grass"
Overall Description
Deep, dark green perennial grass blades are just one of the many attractive features of Green Mondo Grass. Forms nice, dense clumps of dark green foliage which makes it an excellent choice for anything from rock gardens, borders along walkways, erosion control on slopes, or small groundcover type applications. Extremely easy to grow & maintain - spreads easily through rhizomes.
During the summer months, Mondo Grass puts forth a stunning display of brightly colored lilac flowers..........giving the grass a spark of color with good contrast against the very dark green foliage. Mondo Grass works equally as well in very shaded areas, as it does in full sun also. Very popular choice for a carefree, no maintenance planting in any foreground, or groundcover area - regardless of soil composition, sun exposure, etc.

Fertilization / Feeding:
For maximum health & hardiness, we highly recommend
POOPeas
for use with all of our ornamental grasses. However, either water soluble ( Miracle Gro, or equivalent ), or granular fertilizers ( Holly Tone is excellent ) are also good options. Most any granular fertilizers with a 6-12-12, or 10-10-10 ratio are also acceptable. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting.
POOPeas
may be used at anytime.
Additional Features & Characteristics:

Big Blue Liriope Grass has shown itself to have exceptional drought tolerance, and a fairly low overall water requirement once established.
