PLANT DESCRIPTIONS & FACTS
Thuja occidentalis 'Hetzi Midget'
Overall Description
This cute little arborvitae is perfect for spaces that are limited on space. Has nice dark green foliage with a neat, dense , compact growth habit. Very slow growing - in some cases only about 2-4 inches per year. Keeps its shape without trimming or pruning. Can be used solo as an accent to your landscape, or planted closely together as a sort of "mini" hedge, or border. Also is a great choice for container planting, for use in patio gardens, as well as along walkways, paths, or foreground plantings. Truly an all-purpose little shrub selection!!

Fertilization / Feeding:
For maximum health & hardiness, we highly recommend
POOPeas
for use with all of evergreen species. However, either water soluble ( Miracle Gro, or equivalent ), or granular fertilizers ( Holly Tone is excellent ) are also good options. Most any granular fertilizers with a 6-12-12, or 10-10-10 ratio are also acceptable. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting.
POOPeas
may be used at anytime.
Additional Features & Characteristics:
Great For Container Gardnening:
Hetzi Midget Arborvitae makes an excellent choice for container / patio gardening due to its very small mature size, slow growth, and non aggressive root system.
