X Cupressocyparis leylandii
A fast growing, pyramidal evergreen with bluish-green, feathery foliage, and reddish-brown, scaly bark. Extremely dense foliage, and a broad pyramidal growth habit makes Leyland Cypress an excellent choice for quick screens (can grow up to 3 feet per year), hedging, and landscape groupings. Over the past several years has become one of the most widely used varieties for privacy screens in the country - especially in the southeastern U.S. Has also become a fairly popular choice for Christmas tree use in southern states as well.
