PLANT DESCRIPTIONS & FACTS

EVERGREEN PREMIER SELECTION
Juniperus scopulorum 'Moonglow'
Overall Description
A dense conical pyramidal juniper with intense bluish-gray-green foliage. Color so intense it almost glows - one of our favorites!!! Excellent as an accent plant, or planted as a screen or fence border. Holds good color through the winter with very, very minimal bronzing. Does especially well in the plains states of the midwest, as well as in the Rocky Mountain regions.

Plant Facts & Specifications
Mature Height: 12-15 ft
Mature Width: 3-5 ft
Growth rate: Moderate ( 4"-10" avg per yr )
Hardiness Zones: 4-8 ( if unsure of your zone, please use zone finder below )
Sun Exposure: Full sun preferred, but will tolerate some partial shade as well.
Soil Preference: Average to slightly acidic & sandy - well drained. Mulching recommended
Foliage Color & Texture: Very nice silvery bluish green foliage year round.

Flower, Cone, Or Berry Facts: None to mention.
Diseases / Insects: Phomopsis blight, canker, as well as cedar apple rust have all been noted to appear on this variety. Many J. scopulorum cultivars seem to have some trouble in dealing with high heat & humidity, as well as high night time temperatures of the southeast.

Fertilization / Feeding: For maximum health & color, we highly recommend POOPeas Organic Fertilizer & Soil Amendment . However, either water soluble ( Miracle Gro, or equivalent ), or granular fertilizers ( Holly Tone is excellent ) are also good options. Most any granular fertilizers with a 6-12-12, or 10-10-10 ratio are also acceptable. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting. POOPeas may be used at anytime.
