Spirea x bumalda 'Neon Flash'

Overall Description

A beautiful spirea with nice green foliage & contrasting burgundy/red new growth in the spring. Has bright, intense dark pink blooms that seem to last a little longer than most spirea - and are plentiful!! A real standout when mass planted in a flower bed. Can be sheared/pruned to desired shape & size. Does best and has best color in full sun, but will accept partial shade as well.

As with most all spirea, the bloom time can be extended, and will actually last most all summer if old, expired flower heads are pruned off. This variety of spirea works extremely well as a foreground planting in front of taller, larger species........and looks outstanding when mass planted.

For maximum health & hardiness, we highly recommend POOPeas for use with all of our flowering shrub species. However, either water soluble (Miracle Gro, or equivalent ), or granular fertilizers ( Holly Tone is excellent ) are also good options. Most any granular fertilizers with a 6 - 12 - 12, or 10 - 10 - 10 ratio are also acceptable. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting. POOPeas may be used at anytime.
