Lagerstromia indica 'Peppermint Lace'
This Crape Myrtle variety is a very unique mid-sized selection that is known for its bi-colored blooms. Growth habit is very multi-trunked - often times having 10-12 mature trunks if left untrimmed. Foliage is nice & dark green throughout the season, turning a mixture of yellow & red during the fall. Blooms are formed in large clusters in late summer, and are varying shades of fuschia, dark pink, to almost a red color - and then outlined in pure white. The white outline to the blooms give them an almost "lacy" look, which is the big distinguishing feature of this variety.
