Podocarpus macrophyllus --- Chinese Podocarpus
A very different, yet delicate looking large evergreen shrub to small tree with long, slender, leaves much resembling those of a willow. Hold nice green color throughout the year. Good for uses as a small to medium sized hedge, screen, or as a specimen planting. Must be planted in well drained soils - will not thrive if roots stay excessively wet, does not like "wet feet". Very salt tolerant, which makes this plant an excellent choice for coastal areas. Also very heat tolerant, and has been proven to be very deer resistant as well. Prefers full sun and warmer climates to really thrive.
