Pinus thunbergii

A very handsome pine specimen with a pyramidal shape, and very dark green needles. Often develops spreading, pendulous branches as it matures. Known as having extreme salt tolerance, which makes it an excellent choice for landscapes in coastal regions. Also makes an excellent accent planting, and is great for bonsai use as well due to its small to medium size even at maturity. Japanese Black Pine has also shown itself to be extremely resistant to pine beetle, and most other common pests associated with many pine species. Good heat & drought tolerance - just an all around tough tree that has good looks to go along with its hardiness.
