Picea Orientalis
Very dense, pyramidal growth with dark green, stiff, shiny needles that are very, very short - only 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch long. When mature the branches become more pendulous, giving this tree a very elegant, graceful appearance. Produces cones that are only 1" wide and 3"-4" long. The cones start out as purple, maturing to a coppery brown. Makes an excellent specimen planting. Also an excellent choice for container gardens, rock gardens, and bonsai use.
