Azaleas are actually part of the Rhododendron family, and have been one of the most popular flowering shrub species for decades. They have been bred & refined over the years with introductions of many different colors, flower types ( ruffled edges, double blooms, etc ) which have only served to increase their popularity.

We have chosen a handful of Azalea selections that we feel have withstood the test of time, and are certainly worthy of use in most any landscape area where a vibrant splash is desired in early spring. Most all of the varieties we have chosen to offer to our customers are widely known to also produce quite a few blooms again in early to mid fall.....although the quantity will pale in comparison to the outstanding show they put on in spring.

Most all Azaleas prefer cool, somewhat moist fertile soils, and even do quite well in fairly shaded areas where most flowering species would struggle. We highly recommend plenty of mulch be used around all Azalea shrubs, and that customers consider regular addition of organic humus, and a good quality Azalea / Rhododendron Food to maximize bloom quantity & color. If cared for properly, Azaleas can provide a truly breathtaking display of color like very few other shrub species. If you haven't ever tried Azaleas, by all means, look them over & give them a try - chances are, you'll be glad you did!!
