Ligustrum ( sometimes referred to as privet ) is an evergreen, to semi evergreen shrub that is very useful for hedging, foundation planting, or mass planting. In the warmer areas of it's hardiness zone, it is completely evergreen.......with some / most leaf drop occurring in the colder areas. Most varieties produce insignificant, yet very fragrant small clusters of flower like blooms which eventually will turn into small dark bluish / black colored berries in mid fall. These berries with seeds are utilized by birds & other wildlife as a source of food during the winter. We offer a small handful of different varieties & sizes of Ligustrum that we have found to be very attractive, as well as hardy & useful for a variety of landscape applications. Golden Vicary Privet makes an excellent hedge with good growth rate, and large, dense foliage. Newer growth is a vibrant golden yellow, gradually maturing to a bright green. Semi-evergreen in colder climates.
