Tulipa 'Green Wave' - Late Spring Green Class Tulip

Overall Description

Green Wave is a relative newcomer onto the Tulip scene, and is a sport hybrid of 'Greenland' Tulip. Blooms open extremely wide, and are pastel pink with green colored "flames" extending from the base area. Base of each bloom is white, and the petal margins are heavily fringed & serrated, giving Green Wave a distinct, delicate, and very unusual appearance. A superb choice for any flower garden, mass planting, or use as in cut flower arrangements. Stunning and beautiful!

Best planted at a depth of 5" - 6" anytime in mid fall thru winter. Suggested planting is 5 - 6 bulbs per sq ft for good density once sprouted & blooming. Green Wave Tulips are mid to late spring bloomers, with blooming beginning in early May in warmer zones - slightly later in colder areas of the country.

We offer our Tulipa 'Green Wave' Dutch Tulip bulbs at a per bulb price - be sure to check out the quantity discounts offered if you need several bulbs. Guaranteed to be of excellent size & quality.

--Fertilization / Feeding :
For maximum health & hardiness, we highly recommend a good grade granular ( preferably organic ) fertilizer / plant food for use with all of our plant species. We personally use, and recommend the Espoma line of organic plant foods, as they are super effective yet gentle enough to use on even the most delicate of evergreen species where fertilizer burn would normally be a major concern. However, a water soluble type plant food (Miracle Gro, or equivalent ) are also acceptable options. Other granular fertilizers with a 6 - 12 - 12, or 10 - 10 - 10 ratio can also be used - but we suggest using them at 1/2 - 3/4 strength to avoid any chemical burn issues to the root system of the plants. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting. The Espoma Organic Plant Foods may be used at anytime.
