Tulipa 'Helmar' - Mid Spring Blooming Triumph Class Tulip

Overall Description

Helmar Tulip is a mid to late spring blooming Tulip that belongs the Rembrandt Series of Triumph Tulips. It is known for its nice, neat flower form, and very sturdy scapes……...not to mention the out of this world color & pattern of the flowers. Deel golden yellow petals have feather / flamelike shades of deep red, almost maroon that shoot up each petal from the cup shaped base. The interior center of each flower is yellow. A real winner when planted in groups - great for accents, borders, and a real eye catching color pattern in any flower garden.

Best planted at a depth of 5" - 6" anytime in mid fall thru winter. Suggested planting is 3 - 4 bulbs per sq ft for good density once sprouted & blooming. Helmar Tulips are mid spring bloomers, with blooming beginning in mid April in warmer zones - slightly later in colder areas of the country.

We offer our Tulipa 'Helmar' Tulip bulbs in a 4 pk, and guarantee them to be of excellent size & quality.

--Fertilization / Feeding :
For maximum health & hardiness, we highly recommend a good grade granular ( preferably organic ) fertilizer / plant food for use with all of our plant species. We personally use, and recommend the Espoma line of organic plant foods, as they are super effective yet gentle enough to use on even the most delicate of evergreen species where fertilizer burn would normally be a major concern. However, a water soluble type plant food (Miracle Gro, or equivalent ) are also acceptable options. Other granular fertilizers with a 6 - 12 - 12, or 10 - 10 - 10 ratio can also be used - but we suggest using them at 1/2 - 3/4 strength to avoid any chemical burn issues to the root system of the plants. Best to fertilize in early spring, and again in mid fall - avoid feeding standard chemical fertilizers during hot summer months, and directly after transplanting. The Espoma Organic Plant Foods may be used at anytime.
